Day 157
2 Samuel 9:1-10:19, Acts 3:1-26, Psalms 70:1-5
Peter has got it spot on here, a lot of the attention will have been upon him and John after they have healed this bloke and yet Peter then just talks about God and Jesus. This is not about them at all, "it is all about you Jesus".

Even when we are living with the heart of God within us, like David, when we are living godly lives we still need to have the power and grace, like Peter, to ensure that the glory is going upwards and not towards us. David continues his crusade of godly living as he acts so well towards Saul's families and the neighbouring royals in their bereavement, and God honours him for it. We continue to see that God is the focus and not the king.
We also need to notice what Peter and John were off to do - pray. Daniel commented the other day about a quote he read, saying that in acts they prayed for 10 days and preached for 10 minutes - the result was that 3,000 people were converted. Everything they do is rooted in prayer and the glory goes to God, when we do not root it in prayer it all goes off the rails a bit.
The lesson for us? Pray continually, and once you have prayed, pray some more. Then all we do may glorify the Lord our God.
