Day 242
2 Chronicles 35:20-36:23, 2 Corinthians 3:7-18, Psalm 104:19-30
Have you ever looked through a pair of net curtains. They are funny things, all depending on how and where the light is shining. In the middle of the day, when the light is on the outside, people can’t easily see in, but then you can’t easily see out either. You have to change your angle, get closer then move away again, just to get a clear look at what is going on on the other side. If you really need to see, you actually go and move the net curtain, hence the phrases “curtain twitching”.
A veil does a similar job, you can see out a bit better than people can see in, but neither way is that clear. With Christ though, everything becomes so much clearer, we are able to see the glory of God at work through the Holy Spirit and we definitely don’t need the veil that Moses had. We would still be blinded (and more) by the full glory of God, but we are now able to see a fraction of His glory at work. Alleluia to that!
Psalm 104 continues over from yesterday and is a great Psalm for covering one of my favourite subjects, the wonderful and mighty acts of God in creation. It just seems like a massive list of all the wonderful things that God has done, and how the world and the universe reflect him and obey him in so many ways. I love the fact that the list is so long, it is great.
Spend some time thinking about all the things that God has done, all the things that reflect his glory, and then see that in Christ and the Holy Spirit you are able to see them without a veil. Rejoice in our God and his mighty deeds.
