Day 266
Isaiah 55:1-57:13, Ephesians 2:1-22, Psalm 110:1-7
There it is, the verse that proves it, despite what some people might think - the church is not a building. The Bible says so!
“And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit”
We are the church, I’ve been saying it for a while, that it is the people that form the church and here it is in writing. That might not be radical for a lot of people but spend a bit of time thinking what that actually means, because it goes a lot deeper than just a statement about church politics and getting tied up in buildings.
The church building, if we are honest, is a direct descendent of the temple, some people even call it the house of God. The temple was the place where the name of God dwelt, but now Paul is saying that we are the dwelling of God. God is alive and kicking in you. So forget church, think about you, think what it means to have the Spirit of God living in you.
On a different note, remember this:
but then what about this a couple of days later:
And from Isaiah:
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways”
declares the Lord.
Mankind often tries to think that they are smarter than God, sometimes we think we can play God. The truth is, only God is God, only God can play God and only God knows what God is thinking. We just need to put God in his rightful place, ruling over the whole universe yet dwelling deep within our hearts.
