Day 283

Jeremiah 21:1-23:8, 1 Thessalonians 2:17-3:13, Psalm 119:9-16

Paul's comment about encouragement stood out at me today. Timothy brought back a message to Paul concerning the faith of the church there and that message encouraged Paul.

It got me thinking, what encouragement do people get from us. If someone walks into our church, do they feel encouraged by the faith that they see alive within us. Is their own walk with the Lord made stronger and brighter because of the faith and love that they have seen at work within us.

I was also conscious of how Paul was feeling at this point, and how he was low in mood. We are not only called to encourage those who are reasonable well on the walk but those who may be low. Does our smile, the way that we reach out lift people out of the darkness that their faith may be lightened by the light of Christ within us?

Do you need a faith lift, or can you gift a faith lift to someone else?
