Day 288
Jeremiah 31:15-32:25, 2 Thessalonians 3:1-18, Proverbs 25:1-10
What kinds of places do we pray a prayer of blessing over. Our homes? Our workplace? Our classrooms? Our bedrooms?
Hear Jeremiah tells the people that they will again, one day, pray over their houses and the land that they live, it will be theirs once more. I know that when Claire and I moved into our house, we and friends prayed in and around it, for our family, for all who may enter our house and for all the things that happen there. Praying a blessing on the place and also praying for God’s protection over the place. Indeed Paul talks about prayer and the fact that the Lord will protect you from the evil one.
Places are important things, everything we do happens in a particular place, whether that is home, church, school, work or everywhere in between. To pray for the place is also the pray for the things we do in that place, and just as importantly praying for all the other people that are in that place.
A small part of his much bigger prophecy and yet a vital part as Jeremiah tells them that they will once again bless their dwelling.
Where will you pray for today?
