Day 303
Lamentations 3:40-5:22, Hebrews 1:1-14, Psalm 119:129-136
What Paul is trying to do is put Jesus in his rightful place, speaking to the church and pointing them to the glory of the Lord. Jesus is God and angels will adore him, Jesus was even there before creation. All this is nothing new for us.
Something else that isn’t new, but something that it is good to remember every now and again is that we too are heirs with Christ. If you read again all this language of angels and the son of God and look at the status of Christ that Paul is talking about, then hear some more of Paul’s words from Romans 8:
Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ
I may need to be clear at this point, we are not God, we do not quite carry the same status as Christ, but we are still his heirs. God sends his angels to protect and surround us, to walk with us and accompany us.
There was a wonderful line among the lamentations, “Oh Lord, you took up my case, you redeemed my life” which is as true for us as it was for Jeremiah. Know that redemption, claim his angels around you but above all know that you are an heir with Christ.
