Day 330
Daniel 1:1-2:23, 1 Peter 5:1-14, Psalm 134:1-3
Have you ever wanted to make a difference and just wondered how you might go about it? Ever wondered whether you needed to go off to Africa to work in an orphanage or to China to take Bibles to oppressed believers? Do you wonder what on earth God wants you to do, where you fit in to his big plan? Do you think that there must be more than school and your day to day job?
The thing with Daniel and his friends was that they listened to God where he put them. They worked for the king’s household and then there was exile and they were carted off to work for the king of Babylon. What the new king wanted was for these people to conform to his way of life especially when it came to food, but Daniel stayed true to what God wanted.
Daniel carried on doing what he had always done, he just did it for a different king. What made the difference though was that he stayed true to the ways of the Lord and God honoured him in that. God might actually have us doing exactly what he wants us to do right now, he might not actually want us running off to far flung countries. What he does want is for us to be true to his word, true to his ways. When we live the Gospel then people see the Gospel and they see God. You never know, by being a true and honest Christian with integrity you might actually convert more people in the office or the classroom.
Live Christ and Christ will live in you and live in the world.
