Day 346
Esther 2:19-5:14, Revelation 3:7-22, Psalm 141:1-10
There are little bits and pieces that we can learn from all the churches in these letters and the one to Philadelphia is no different. God notices when they stay true to his words, even when they are feeling weak and lacking in strength, they stay true to the word of the Lord and it is noted. Would the same thing be said of us?
Or would we be more like the church in Laodicea, just a little bit luke warm, neither hot nor cold, just tepid. One thing that I got used to when Samuel came into the world was that I started to only half drink cups of tea, sometimes you would not even get a sip. Something would come up, or need doing or a nappy would need changing and the cup of tea would get put down. But the thing is, after a while you don’t finish it, you pour it away, because luke warm tea is not nice. And God doesn’t want us to be luke warm disciples, he wants us to be on fire for him, boiling hot for him. He wants disciples that set other people on fire.
So what kind of a disciple are you. Luke warm or on fire. Let the spirit into your heart and the flames will burn even more.
