Day 348

Esther 9:1-10:3, Revelation 5:1-14, Proverbs 30:11-23

Today is another of the days that reminds us why Revelation is a hard book to read, it is full of imagery that can be quite difficult.

Sometimes though that imagery points us to something that is quite plain and simple and today we have the lamb, the lamb who was slain. Something that directly points us to Christ on the cross. The lamb that was slain stops being an image and become the lamb that was slain for us, for me and for you. The one who was without sin who carried our sin to the cross in order that we may be saved.

Some people try to leave revelation and it’s pictures alone and yet the slaying of the lamb is something that we can’t ignore, for it has our names all over it. We must always remember our place in that picture. we must always remember the cross.

Take a bit of time today to look at the cross once more. To remember all that Christ, the lamb of God, did for us.
