Day 356
Ezra 8:15-9:15, Revelation 14:1-13, Proverbs 31:1-9
I wondered, as I read today, what it must have felt like to be Sherebiah. It is quite nice to be noticed, especially if you have done something worth noticing. And here, this “capable man”, probably quite ordinary, is immortalised in the Bible for all time. That is one hefty claim to fame. Imagine how his ancestors must have felt as well.
The challenge today is quite simple. If the Bible were to be re-written (which I know is a heretical thought in itself), but if it were … might we make its pages? Are we doing such good stuff for God that we would get a mention? It is not always the heroes like Abraham or Joseph, sometimes it is the quite ordinary, “capable”, people.
Could it be you?
